THE.DESIGNER

JAIME MUNOZ ESCOBAR

Hugely inspired by minimalism, Jaime Munoz Escobar delivers a broad body of work that evokes an inherent transparency through simple and clean design language. The nature of his designs is understated, based mostly on an effortless approach towards the creative process. Stripping away all unnecessary elements from a design without affecting its impact on users is very much a part of his creative process.

As a self-defined minimalist, Jaime is influenced deeply by achromatic and monochromatic color schemes. His background as an Industrial Designer keeps alive his desire to continue exploring with new materials, techniques and technologies. As a designer, Jaime’s knowledge of building/construction processes is one of his fortes.

His interests expand into creative fields such as Interior Design, Graphic design, Art Direction, Architecture, Sculpture and Installation Art amongst others. He is an enthusiast of Modernist and Contemporary art, and is immensely influenced creatively by icons of European furniture design such as Marcel Breuer, Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjaerholm, Hans Wegner, Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia, Le Corbusier, and Jean Prouve. His creativity is also fueled by great American designers amongst which he highlights the works of Milo Baughmann, Paul McCobb, Florence Knoll Bassett, and Charles & Ray Eames; as well as British masters of the field like Tom Dixon and Eero Saarinen.

DESIGN//life.PHILOSOPHY

"DO IT WITH PASSION OR NOT AT ALL."

Wake up every morning with a positive mind. Always give it your best. If we all did the things we were capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves. Astound yourself. Start by doing the necessary, then the possible. Sooner than later you’ll find yourself doing the impossible. Don’t seek perfection, just do the things to the best of your ability. That is exactly what “seeking perfection” is. Nothing will ever be perfect. Nothing will ever be too bad to “kill” you. The strength of the human mind is the biggest gift of existence itself. Think yourself into existence. Be confident. Be a go-getter. Stop worrying about the little stuff. Stop worrying about the “BIG” stuff. Just stop worrying… If you give it your best shot, opportunities will come. You’ll find doors opening letting gleaming light transform the darkness there once used to be. Be careful of not knowing where you are going… you might not get there. Create a vision for yourself. Make others happy & make yourself happy as well. At the end of it all… putting it into perspective… living is all that matters.

Enjoy the gift of existence.

Exist & create.
